Have we passed the Turing test already?
in 1950 Alan Turing proposed a test to see if a machine could think. The test proposed that if you cannot tell if a machine or a human has answered a set of questions, then the machine was thinking. Many variations on the test have been proposed over the years, and there has been much discussion on what its results mean.
According to an article on Lithub by Stephen Marche, the test has been passed. Bots routinely imitate humans on the web and often go undetected. Developments in AI and NLP have left us in a murky situation. Increasingly, human interactions are done online, and in this setting, humans have become more like bots themselves.
