These people use Julia, and this is why.
I haven't tried Julia much, but it is gaining some traction in scientific computing. This article , which summarises a recent twitter discussion, is about the state of machine learning in Julia. I use Python and R regularly, and would be open to using Julia. However, the topics discussed here seem a bit abstract to tempt me: "differentiable programming on non quasi-static programs". The focus seems to be on improvements in speed and efficiency in things like training scientific ML models. This may well be true, but I think this misses the main reason people use Python: it's a general purpose language with lots of mature libraries for doing all sorts of other things (REST APIs, web scraping, database connectors, etc etc) as well as ML. Its all about the ecosystem!
Can anybody tempt me to Julia?
